RUSUTSU RESORT
Rusutsu Resort: Access, Powder & Lesson Highlights

Direct Buses from Sapporo and New Chitose Airport
From the city center of Sapporo, you can take the Rusutsu-Go train; from New Chitose Airport, you can take the BIGRUNS train to Rausu; the journey takes about 120 minutes; in winter weather, the travel time may increase.
2026–2027 Snow Season Warning:The official announcement is that starting November 28, 2026, the Sapporo-bound winter bus service will be fare-based; as of September 25, 2026, the fare and reservation details are still to be announced. Before booking a course, please check the arrival time, the time required to rent equipment, and the return schedule; do not directly use the same schedule as last season.

Rusutsu Ski Lesson Prices
2026–2027: The winter course fees are the same regardless of the season. The following are the Rusutsu Resort Ryujin Ski/Snowboard Private Lessons costs, all prices are calculated in Japanese yen.
Half-day or full-day, how to choose?
3 hours:It is suitable for students who want to experience the technique first or focus on improving one skill. Beginners still need to allocate time for equipment adjustment and basic practice; it does not mean that they can glide independently in half a day.
5+1 hours / 6+1 hours:With 5/6 hours of instruction and 1 hour of lunch break, it is suitable for travelers who want more complete practice time; please choose based on your physical condition, your child's schedule, and your transportation arrangements.
For many consecutive days:It is possible to explain the current level and learning goals before booking the class so that the course can be adapted to the student's progress; the actual content will be evaluated by the coach.

Rusutsu Lessons
Before You Book
Before booking a private ski lesson in Rujiu, please first understand the cost breakdown, class hours, and cancellation and change policies.
Before attending, first confirm three things:
① Please verify the collection information in the email; if you do not receive it or have any questions, please contact us first; do not assume that you will be collected at the hotel lobby.
② Reserve time for renting and returning ski equipment, changing clothes, and getting to the meeting point; if you need coaching to rent equipment, the relevant time will be included in the course.
③ If you are traveling to and from Sapporo immediately, please first confirm that the bus arrival and return times will be compatible with the selected class. Then complete the reservation.

01｜Lesson Fees
Lesson fees include private instruction and Japanese consumption tax. Lift passes, equipment, ski clothing, transport, meals, travel insurance and personal expenses are not included.
Lunch, breaks and equipment rental assistance are included within the booked lesson time.
02｜Insurance and Safety
Snoway Academy holds third-party liability insurance with coverage up to ¥200 million. This does not replace personal travel or ski insurance. We recommend insurance that covers skiing or snowboarding. Guests with injuries, pregnancy, heart conditions or other health concerns should seek medical advice before participating.
03｜Lesson Groups and Timing
Guests sharing a lesson should have similar ability levels. When adults, children or mixed abilities learn together, the lesson will follow the least experienced guest for safety. Each lesson covers either skiing or snowboarding. Separate instructors are required to learn both activities at the same time. Equipment rental assistance, breaks and meals are included within the booked lesson time.
04｜Cancellation, Changes and Refunds
If you need to cancel a confirmed lesson, please contact Snoway Academy as early as possible.
CANCELLATION POLICY
31 days or more before the lesson: Full refund, less a 2% administration and payment processing fee
15–30 days before: 80% refund
8–14 days before: 50% refund
2–7 days before: 20% refund
Within one day, same-day cancellation or no-show: No refund
DATE CHANGES
Please contact us as early as possible. Changes depend on instructor availability, resort operations and remaining lesson spaces. Changes are not guaranteed.
Resort Closure and Force Majeure
Skiing and snowboarding are affected by weather, snow and resort operations. Lessons normally continue while the resort remains open and the lesson can safely proceed.
If a guest cancels due to snowfall, strong winds, poor visibility, partial lift closures or personal concerns, the standard cancellation and refund policy will apply.
Only when the resort officially announces a full closure on the lesson date and the lesson cannot proceed will Snoway Academy contact the guest to arrange rescheduling, a change of resort where available, lesson credit or a full refund.
Travel Disruption
If a guest cannot reach the resort because of a cancelled flight or suspended public transport, but the resort remains open and the lesson can proceed, the standard cancellation and refund policy will apply.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the card provider or payment platform.

How to choose the right ski instructor for you in Rujiu?
When choosing a ski instructor in Suidou, in addition to considering the cost, you should also confirm the types of skis they teach, relevant certifications, the language of instruction, and whether they are suitable for the level of the student. For first-time skiers, clear explanations and sequential practice are important; for those with a foundation, they can explain the skills they want to improve when making an appointment.
The Snoway Academy team conducts internal training led by Level 3 senior coaches, focusing on explaining, demonstrating, observing movements, and providing targeted feedback, adjusting the exercises according to the participants' level and physical condition. 1. Are Rusutsu ski lessons suitable for beginners and children?
Yes. Lessons begin with equipment basics, movement, getting up and safe stopping before progressing at a comfortable pace. Children learn according to their age, energy and ability.
2. Are the lessons suitable for intermediate riders?
Yes. Improve posture, turning, speed control and skills for different terrain.
3. Can I book an English-speaking instructor?
Yes. Lessons are available in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, subject to instructor availability.
4. Can I choose Ski or Snowboard?
Yes. Select Ski or Snowboard when booking. Each instructor can teach only one activity per lesson. Separate instructors are required for different activities.
5. How much do Rusutsu ski lessons cost?
For one or two guests, a three-hour lesson starts from ¥65,000, a 5+1-hour lesson from ¥88,000 and a 6+1-hour lesson from ¥98,000. Prices depend on lesson length and group size.
6. Do I need to stay at Rusutsu Resort?
No. Day visitors can also book lessons. Seasonal buses usually operate from Sapporo and New Chitose Airport. Check the current timetable before booking.
7. How do I book a private lesson?
