First-Time Riders
Beginners usually start on flat and gentle terrain outside Mountain Center, then progress to Family when ready. Snoway Academy finds its pitch well suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders. Routes depend on ability and daily snow conditions.

Children and Families
Practice and breaks are adapted to each child’s age, stamina and pace. Tell us everyone’s ability and chosen discipline when booking. If adults and children have different needs, ask about separate groups so everyone can progress comfortably.

Kiroro Ski Lesson Prices
2026–2027 lesson prices are the same throughout the season and are total private-group prices in Japanese yen. We recommend a full day for first-timers and families. The 5+1 and 6+1 options include five or six teaching hours plus a one-hour lunch break. Check that your return transport fits.

Why do we meet here?
Kiroro designates this meeting point for registered operators. As a registered partner school, Snoway Academy must meet guests here in accordance with resort rules, rather than arranging a meeting in a hotel lobby or guest room.
We will create a Line/WhatsApp group before your lesson so you can contact your instructor and confirm meeting details.
From booking to skiing: Kiroro’s class schedule
- Online booking:Choose Ski/Snowboard, date, number of people, and course hours.
- Confirm your arrangements:Through Line/WhatsApp groups, we confirm the level of students, the teaching language, the time of the gathering, and the equipment arrangements.
- Gathering at the venue:Please allow time for rental equipment and attire changes, and reserve time to walk to the meeting point. From the Mountain Center ski resort exit, head outdoors and meet your coach at the scheduled time near the snow map sign.
- Practice according to the level:Beginners start with equipment operation, ground movement, and safety braking; more experienced riders practice according to their level and goals. The full-day course includes a lunch break, and the instructor adjusts the exercises based on their physical condition and progress.

BOOKING INFORMATION
Kiroro Ski Lesson
Before You Book
Before booking, check inclusions, insurance, meeting details and cancellation terms. After your bus arrives, allow time for rentals, changing and reaching the meeting point. Club Med guests should check which lessons their package already includes before booking a separate Snoway Academy private instructor.
01｜Lesson Fees
Lesson fees include private instruction and Japanese consumption tax. Lift passes, equipment, ski clothing, transport, meals, travel insurance and personal expenses are not included.
Lunch, breaks and equipment rental assistance are included within the booked lesson time.
02｜Insurance and Safety
Snoway Academy holds third-party liability insurance with coverage up to ¥200 million. This does not replace personal travel or ski insurance. We recommend insurance that covers skiing or snowboarding. Guests with injuries, pregnancy, heart conditions or other health concerns should seek medical advice before participating.
03｜Lesson Groups and Timing
Guests sharing a lesson should have similar ability levels. When adults, children or mixed abilities learn together, the lesson will follow the least experienced guest for safety. Each lesson covers either skiing or snowboarding. Separate instructors are required to learn both activities at the same time. Equipment rental assistance, breaks and meals are included within the booked lesson time.
04｜Cancellation, Changes and Refunds
If you need to cancel a confirmed lesson, please contact Snoway Academy as early as possible.
CANCELLATION POLICY
31 days or more before the lesson: Full refund, less a 2% administration and payment processing fee
15–30 days before: 80% refund
8–14 days before: 50% refund
2–7 days before: 20% refund
Within one day, same-day cancellation or no-show: No refund
DATE CHANGES
Please contact us as early as possible. Changes depend on instructor availability, resort operations and remaining lesson spaces. Changes are not guaranteed.
Resort Closure and Force Majeure
Skiing and snowboarding are affected by weather, snow and resort operations. Lessons normally continue while the resort remains open and the lesson can safely proceed.
If a guest cancels due to snowfall, strong winds, poor visibility, partial lift closures or personal concerns, the standard cancellation and refund policy will apply.
Only when the resort officially announces a full closure on the lesson date and the lesson cannot proceed will Snoway Academy contact the guest to arrange rescheduling, a change of resort where available, lesson credit or a full refund.
Travel Disruption
If a guest cannot reach the resort because of a cancelled flight or suspended public transport, but the resort remains open and the lesson can proceed, the standard cancellation and refund policy will apply.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the card provider or payment platform.

1. Are Kiroro ski lessons suitable for beginners and children?
Yes. Kiroro has wide beginner runs for first-time riders, children and families. Lessons begin with equipment basics, movement, getting up and safe stopping before progressing at a comfortable pace. One-to-one instruction is recommended for children aged six to eight.
2. Can I book an English-speaking instructor?
Yes. Lessons are available in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Language requests are subject to instructor availability, so early booking is recommended.
3. Can I choose Ski or Snowboard?
Yes. Select Ski or Snowboard when booking and provide each guest’s age and experience level. One instructor can teach only one activity during each lesson. Separate instructors are required if guests wish to learn both Ski and Snowboard.
4. How much do Kiroro ski lessons cost?
For one or two guests, a three-hour lesson starts from ¥49,000, a 5+1-hour lesson from ¥72,000 and a 6+1-hour lesson from ¥82,000. Prices depend on lesson length and group size.
5. Do I need to stay at Kiroro Resort?
No. Guests staying at Club Med Kiroro, Yu Kiroro, Otaru or Sapporo can book a lesson. Day visitors must arrange their own transport and allow enough time to reach the meeting point.
6. How do I reach Kiroro from Otaru or Sapporo?
Kiroro is around 40 minutes by car from central Otaru. Seasonal reservation-only buses may operate from Otaru and Sapporo. Schedules and booking arrangements can change each season, so checkCheck Access Information..
