Course Information
📌 Suggested for class participants to have a similar level.
We recommend that participants in the same class be of a similar ability level, as this ensures a smooth learning experience. If there is too great a disparity in ability, participants may end up having to wait for one another. For safety reasons, the instructor will focus their attention on the less experienced participants.
📌 Lesson arrangements for adults 👨🦱 and children 🧒
Snoway Academy welcomes families to join our skiing lessons together!
As adults and children learn in different ways, separate lessons usually yield better results.
However, if you’d like to enjoy the experience as a family, you’re very welcome to do so.
For safety reasons, our instructors will focus more on the children, ensuring they can learn safely and happily, whilst adults can also enjoy the lessons.

We will endeavour to arrange for a Cantonese-speaking instructor to teach the class; however, if all Cantonese-speaking instructors are already booked for that time slot, the class will be taught by a Mandarin-speaking instructor.
📌 Class members' health status
If you have injuries, congenital diseases, or are pregnant, please ensure you have been assessed by a medical professional and deemed safe before participating in the ski experience.
Single and double board lessons cannot be taken at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do beginner skiers need to prepare anything?
General ski hire shops only rent out skis, ski boots, ski jackets, ski trousers and helmets. Therefore, please prepare your personal hygiene items such as: gloves, goggles, padded shorts, knee pads, wrist guards, balaclavas, ski socks, base layers and mid-layer insulation, etc.
Are lift passes and ski equipment hire included in the cost?
Course fees are quoted in Japanese yen and include Japanese consumption tax (10%). The
fees cover tuition only and do not include participants’ cable car tickets, ski equipment and clothing hire, lunch, travel insurance or other such items; nor do they include the 3.6% transaction fee charged by the online payment platform.
Will the coach help with equipment rental?
Ski hire shop staff are generally very experienced, and we recommend that students hire their ski equipment first to enjoy more practice time on the slopes. Instructors can assist with equipment hire if needed, but the time taken to hire equipment will be deducted from your lesson time.
How many days are recommended for new beginners?
We recommend at least one day. Everyone's athletic talent is also different. Generally speaking, if you want to learn single-board S turns or double-board parallel turns, we recommend at least 2-3 days.
If I have no skiing experience, will a one-day lesson only be in the practice area?
Snoway recommends arranging lessons for at least two days or more. Everyone's athletic talent is different, and the pace of the lesson will also be adjusted according to the student. The two-day curriculum will include practice on beginner slopes and learning to use the ski lift, allowing you to experience skiing for the first time while still enjoying the fun of free gliding, rather than constantly falling and getting up in the practice area. For more details, please consult customer service.
Can children attend? Can they take classes with adults?
For children aged 4 to 8, Snoway recommends one-to-one lessons to learn basic skiing techniques. Children can
start skiing on two skis from the age of 4 and on a snowboard from the age of 6.
Children aged 8 and over can begin taking lessons alongside adults. Please
note: children’s stamina and learning progress may differ from those of adults.
Snoway is a ski school specialising in courses for beginners and families. Our
family experience programmes focus on learning to ski in a fun and enjoyable way, with our professional instructors providing patient and attentive guidance, taking learners step by step through the process. Progress tends to be quicker with alpine skiing
, whilst it takes longer to see results with snowboarding.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via Line/WhatsApp for inquiries.
Can the whole family take a class together?
Snoway specialises in ski experience courses for families. Please feel free to contact us for information on preparations and itinerary suggestions.
Can pregnant women attend classes?
Skiing is, after all, a risky sport, and we do not accept pregnant students. We apologise for any inconvenience.
I'm wearing a wool hat, can I go without a helmet?
Snoway Academy is a ski school that puts safety first. For safety reasons, we strongly recommend that helmets be worn at all times, both during lessons and during free skiing time outside of lessons.
Where can I put my personal belongings/bag during class?
During the lesson, students only need to bring essential items such as a copy of their passport, mobile phone, a small amount of cash, and a credit card (for purchasing ski passes and lunch). We recommend you store other items or backpacks in the lockers at the ski resort. Note: Absolutely do not put your mobile phone in an inside breast pocket. Snoway’s instructors are very enthusiastic. If you require assistance, you can ask the instructor on the day of your lesson.
Is there a break during class?
The full-day course includes a one-hour lunch break. Before the session begins, the instructor will outline the day’s programme and discuss the lunch break arrangements.
If necessary, participants may also ask the instructor for a break during the session, depending on how they are feeling.
Our attentive instructors will also regularly check on each participant’s well-being.
Can you learn snowboard and skis at the same time?
No, you can't! A coach can only teach one type of course at a time.
Yes, you still need to wear sunscreen when skiing in winter.
Sunlight's UV reflection coefficient is higher on snow than normal, so we strongly recommend wearing sunscreen on sunny days!
